Lotus Herbals Pure Color Lipstick Rosewood

What the company claims about the product?
PURE COLOR™ is a 100% vegetarian range of moisturizing lip colours available in 22 rich, sophisticated shades including peaches, pinks and nutty browns.

Active Ingredients:
Enriched with the botanical extracts of Aloe Vera and Jojoba.
JOJOBA – Jojoba helps promote healing of the skin. – Its antimicrobial properties in addition to the chemical composition that closely resembles skin’s natural sebum, makes it easy to absorb and non-allergic even in the most sensitive individual.

Packaging:
The lippy comes in a beige coloured packaging with golden detailing and fonts. (It looks cream in the picture).   The bullet is encased in golden tube inside. The cap shuts with a click which makes it quite sturdy and travel friendly. It comes with no shade indicator except for the shade label which is placed at the end of the tube, so this makes it quite difficult to locate it if you own more than one.

Texture:
The texture of this lipstick is very smooth, not crumbly smooth to the point of breaking. There is no fear of breaking or melting in this lipstick so be rest assured. The pigmentation of this one is also good, not insanely pigmented but rich enough to completely cover the imperfection and pigmentation of the lips in a single swipe. The shade can be built up and two swipes give true to the bullet color. The lipstick has soft shimmers in it which is not much visible and has a slight frosty finish to it. The lipstick is not drying at all and gives a smooth application. It is quite moisturizing itself so you wouldn’t require a lip balm underneath this lipstick. But yes severe dry lips may need to apply a chap stick underneath. The lipstick is fragrance but has faint talc like smell to it which is not very strong or bothering.
My experience:
I got this lipstick online when lotusherbals.com was giving hefty discounts on all their products. Pure Colors are one of the best budget lipsticks in Indian market and fall in the same category like those of Maybelline Color sensational Lip Colors and Colorbar Velvet Matte lipstick.  They come in array of colour and you will find a shade for every skin tone. Rosewood is a brown shade with pink undertones. The colour is universally flattering and would look good on one and all. It looks quite dark and unattractive in the tube but transform into a pretty brownish pink shade on the lips. It the lipstick does not bleed and does not accentuate any fine lines.  This shade does have slight shimmers to it but the shimmer is in no way tacky but is quite wearable.
The lipstick stays on for around 2 to 3 hours if layered properly and then fades leaving a pink tint behind. A single swipe of this shade won’t last long as it is a moderately pigmented shade. You can blot it with tissue paper and ten apply the lipstick. This will surely make it last longer.

Summing up the Pros and Cons:
Pros:
1.       It is quite affordable.
2.       Preservative free
3.       Fragrance free
4.       Good pigmentation.
5.       100% vegetarian.
6.       Decent packaging
7.       A wide range of shades.
Cons:
1.       Might be a bit drying for some.
2.       Shimmers. (this may not be a con for everyone)
3.       Complete list of ingredients is not mentioned.
Final Verdict:
Lotus Herbals Pure Colors are a must have mid-range lipsticks for every lipstick lovers. They are affordable, of good quality and most importantly vegetarian and preservative free lipstick. If you do not like this shade, you can try some other shades from this range. You will find some lovely pinks and reds in this range as well.
